As we approach the end of 2025, it’s time to reflect on the incredible journey Rogue Trans has undertaken this year. Despite the challenges faced, we have managed to cultivate a sense of beauty, community, and resilience, embodying the spirit of our mission.
One of our proudest achievements this year has been the continued success of our Free Closet, which has been serving our community for over a year now. Each month, we proudly assist 50 to 75 individuals, providing essential clothing and resources to those in need. This initiative reflects our commitment to fostering inclusivity and support within our community.
Our partnerships have been instrumental in expanding our impact. Collaborating with community partners such as the Rogue Action Center, the Teresa McCormick Center, and United Way of Jackson County has strengthened our foundation and allowed us to reach more people. Additionally, the Medford Drop has been a vital ally, helping us amplify our mission and support our fellow community members. Together, we have hosted pop-up closets in the Grants Pass area, participated in vibrant events at Medford Pride, Grants Pass Pride, and Ashland Pride, and organized engaging activities ranging from hikes and game nights to craft nights, bowling nights, and karaoke nights.
Throughout it all, we have stood strong, demonstrating that we are not going anywhere. This unwavering commitment culminated in achieving our nonprofit status, a significant milestone that will enhance our capacity to serve and engage with the community.
Looking ahead, we are excited about the future. In 2026, we will be moving into a new facility that will allow us to open the Free Closet four days a week. This upgrade will also provide a dedicated space for peer support, group activities, classes, workshops, and various events that nurture creativity and connection within our community.
While the path has been fraught with challenges, the rewards have far outweighed the hardships. The love, support, and camaraderie we have built within our community are truly remarkable. We entered 2025 seeking to find our way, and as we prepare for 2026, we are ready to shine.
