Our History
Founded in January 2024, Rogue Trans Outreach emerged from the collaborative vision of Maeve and Freya, two dedicated advocates for the transgender, non-binary, and gender-diverse communities. Recognizing the significant barriers faced by these marginalized groups, they initially set out to create a comprehensive resource list that highlighted local businesses and medical care that are known for their trans-friendly policies.
This grassroots effort soon blossomed into something much larger.
As Maeve and Freya engaged with community members, it became clear that there was a pressing need for a supportive network that offered not only resources but also a sense of belonging. This insight inspired the team to expand their initiative along with developing a resource list, they began planning a community group aimed at fostering connection and advocacy among individuals who identify as transgender, non-binary, and gender diverse, as well as their allies.
With determination and passion, Rogue Trans Outreach formally launched its group, organizing events designed to bring awareness and provide support. Each gathering became a platform for sharing experiences, exchanging knowledge, and cultivating a robust support system that celebrates individuality and inclusivity. These events also served as educational opportunities, aimed at reducing stigma and promoting understanding within the wider community.

A major milestone in the organization’s journey was the opening of the Free Open Clothing Closet, a safe space where individuals can access gender-affirming clothing and accessories at no cost. This initiative not only helps to alleviate the financial burden often associated with transitioning but also empowers individuals to express their identities authentically. The Clothing Closet has become a vital resource for transgender and non-binary individuals, fostering self-acceptance and confidence.
To amplify its impact, Rogue Trans Outreach is actively partnering with various community resources, including local healthcare providers, mental health organizations, educational institutions, and advocacy groups. These partnerships aim to build an interconnected web of support, enhancing access to vital services such as gender-affirming medical care, mental health resources, and legal assistance. Through collaborative events and outreach programs, Rogue Trans Outreach works diligently to raise awareness about the unique challenges that transgender individuals face, while also celebrating their contributions to the community.
